Travel was on high priority for Indians in 2025. The top 10 travel destinations most searched on Google this year showcase a clear rise in interest in international trips, and younger travellers, especially millennials and Gen Z. Google search data also pointed towards a growing interest in spiritual travel in 2025.

Top 10 travel destinations most searched by Indians on Google in 2025

    1. Kumbh Mela, Uttar Pradesh

One of the world’s largest religious gatherings, the Kumbh Mela drew massive interest from Indian travellers in 2025. Not just interest, it also drew a massive footfall of 66 crore people, according to Hindustan Times. Held at sacred river banks in UP’s Prayagraj, pilgrims take a holy dip, attend sermons and experience the scale of devotion.

    2. Philippines

The Philippines remained a popular international search thanks to its beaches, islands and relaxed vibe. Destinations like Boracay and Palawan attract Indian travellers looking for tropical escapes. The country offers visa-free entry to Indians under certain conditions, making travel easier.

    3. Georgia

Georgia has quietly become a favourite among Indian travellers. The country offers visa-free entry to Indians holding valid US, UK or Schengen visas. Its mix of mountains, old towns and wine culture draws those looking for something different. Tbilisi’s charm, scenic road trips and budget-friendly travel options make Georgia a strong alternative to traditional European destinations.

    4. Mauritius

Mauritius continues to be a top pick for beach lovers and honeymooners. Indians enjoy visa-free entry here. The island is known for its white-sand beaches, luxury resorts and Indian cultural links.

    5. Kashmir

    6. Phu Quoc, Vietnam

Phu Quoc has emerged as a new beach destination on Indian travellers’ radar. The Vietnamese island is known for clean beaches, luxury resorts and quieter surroundings compared to crowded hotspots. Vietnam’s simple e-visa process has helped boost interest. With direct flights increasing and costs remaining reasonable, a lot of Indians have been travelling to Vietnam.

    7. Phuket, Thailand

Visa-free entry, frequent and direct flights, and affordability has made Thailand one of the most sought-after destinations among Indians. From beaches, to nightlife, wildlife, shopping markets and amazing food, Phuket and Thailand in general has something for everyone.

    9. Somnath, Gujarat

Somnath is one of the key spiritual destinations in India. Home to one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, the temple holds deep religious significance.

    10. Pondicherry
